Electrolysis FAQ

Permanent hair removal for all! PCOS, Hormonal Imbalances, Hirsutism, MtF Transitions, Tattoos, all hair colors and skin colors

01

Is electrolysis really permanent?

Yes! Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. When performed by a licensed professional and completed through a treatment plan, results are long-lasting and permanent.

03

How is electrolysis different from laser hair removal?

Laser targets pigment and is most effective on dark, coarse hair and pale skin. Electrolysis treats each follicle directly and doesn’t rely on pigment, making it safe and effective for all hair colors and all skin types.

02

How many sessions will I need?

Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions are needed to catch each hair during its active growth phase. The number of sessions depends on the area treated, hair density, hormonal influences, previous hair removal method and how consistent you are with appointments. I will work with you to create a custom treatment plan. Average time commitment is 18 months (frequency and duration of appointments become less as treatment progresses).

04

Does electrolysis hurt?

Pain tolerance varies by person. Most clients describe the feeling as mosquito bite or warmth sensation — it's very tolerable for the majority. Sensitivity varies by area, but we always do our best to make you comfortable. Book a consultation to do a test treatment.
